About Richard Marx

Richard Noel Marx (born September 16, 1963 in Chicago, Illinois) is an American singer-songwriter best known for adult contemporary music. He has a string of successfulsingles in the late 80 's and early 90 's like "Right here waiting," "Danger" and "hold atnight." Although most successful songs slow ballads like these, many of the songs had aclassic rock style, optimistic, example "Don't mean nothing," "You Should known better,""satisfied," and "Waiting for the Sunrise". Marx placed himself in the record books by becoming the first solo artist to have his first seven Singles in the top 5 in the u.s. Singlestop the chart.

Marx born Dick and Ruth Marx. Marx was raised in household of mixed faith where his father and his mother was a Christian. His father was a writer for the advertising jinglefor popular products such as the ' chicken of the sea ', which Marx get started writing at the age of five years. His father also was a talented jazz musician, well known in the Chicago area.

At the age of 17 years, Marx created a demo to showcase talents, which landed in the hands of the soul artist Lionel Richie. Richie invited Marx to Hollywood, saying, "I can't promise you anything, but you should come to L.A." Marx will eventually appear asbackground vocals in the songs "you are Richie's" and "running with The Night" as well as the Richie's follow-up album, which included the smash hit "all night long".

He served as a writer/producer for an extensive list of other recording artists, includingBarry Manilow, Barbra Streisand, Keith Urban, 98 Degrees, Kenny Loggins, EmersonDrive, Luther Vandross, Michael Bolton, * NSYNC, Olivia Newton-John, Sarah Brightman,SheDaisy, John Farnham and Vince Gill.

Marx is married to Cynthia Rhodes, who starred in the 1987 blockbuster Dirty Dancingand is the former vocalist for 80s pop band Animotion, since 1989. The couple havethree sons: Brandon, Lucas, and Jesse. Brandon is the oldest, followed by Lucas thenJesse.

One of the works of Marx's Booking was a song called "remember when", composed to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Disneyland. Performed by LeAnn Rimes, songs can be heard on the Grounds of the official 50th Anniversary album, as well as selected times in the Park.
